EzineArticles User Friendly Article Statistics

Ezine articles is probably one of my favorite article directories. It's got decent PR and I have had no problems getting my articles accepted and published by them.

One great feature of ezinearticles is the ability to see how often your articles have been viewed, how often the link in your signature has been clicked etc

And this information is really useful. But ezinearticles have cranked things up a notch. The new article statistics layout is awesome. It gives you all the information AND Trends on one page.

For me recently my articles have not been getting as many views as they did a few months ago.

I suppose I have to spend some effort promoting them. And I decided all this from a ten second glance at the new ezinearticles article statistics page!

Al I can say is 'Awesome!'

Ezinearticles, Traffic and Your Website 5

My posts on ezinearticles, traffic and your website walked you through how to write an article that is sure to attract clicks and get click throughs to the link in your biobox

By now you should have submitted a handful of articles to the article directory

So far I have left out one crucial step in how to maximize your articles' traffic puling power
And it's this

Promote your ezinearticles

This is crucial
Methods I suggest include

  • Social bookmarking.
  • Yahoo answers
  • RSS feeds. Yes, ezinearticles has RSS feeds which you can distribute to RSS directories. Start with these RSS directories
  • Forum signatures Here are some suggested Forums

That's it.

All the methods above are quick and easy to implement.

You'll notice I did not mention things like link exchange and press releases

The point of using these methods to promote your ezinearticles is you do not want to spend too much effort getting links to your articles. You should be investing that effort in getting links to your money pages

Ezinearticles, Traffic and Your Website 4

Your biobox, the goldmine of ezinearticles

At the end of each article you post on ezinearticles is your biobox. This is a box in which you write something about yourself or your business. An 'about the author' so to speak.

The great thing is that ezine articles allows you to post two links in your biobox. They could be to a site or a blog or a forum post. [last time I checked affiliate links were not allowed].

You could make it a URL link or an anchor text link. This is the goldmine in ezine articles

In the body of your article, all you are aiming for is to get the attention, the interest, arouse the imagination of your readers. It is a 'wetting their appetite' campaign. It's the preview to your blockbuster movie. The gripping first chapter of your best selling novel.

The biobox is where you reel them in.

It is where you have a chance to deliver that line that they cannot say 'no' to.

It really is not good enough to have a biobox that says xyz is webmaster of yourdomain. This just is not going to make anyone want to click your link. Forget it, no matter how good that article is.

So how do you increase the click through rate of the URL in your biobox.

The key is to make them feel like they are missing something really valuable if they don't. WITHOUT MAKING IT SPAMMY

The work up for this starts in the body of your article's content. You must establish some authority with the content in your article. Gain their trust. Let them feel you know what it is you are talking about. So that when, in your biobox, you add visit mydomain for advanced level tips on whatever subject, they are bound to click.

Who wouldn't! You have already given some unique valuable content in your articles body. perhaps a little known tip dropped somewhere. By the end of the article, they will be gagging for more.

And then you tell them there's advanced [i.e deeper, higher, better without actually using those words] information to be had. All they need to do is click the link.

The question is does one use URL links or anchor text links in the biobox. I tend to use both. For the reason that I want them to see the name of the website I am linking to. So often one of the links will be anchor text and the other, direct URL link

Keywords And Search Engine Optimization [SEO]

Must confess I tend to write articles, for ezinearticles, my blogs and websites; on the fly.

But I can do this because I have some knowledge of SEO and keyword selection. My keyword research does not start when I sit down to pen an article.

It really is an ongoing process. Browsing the web, I come across posts and articles that I think, 'Hmmm I'd like to write about this' or 'I could throw more light on that' And 'I wonder how many people would be interested in this'

So I have a long list of things, keywords, posts that I am yet to write. By the time I sit down to write, I have had the idea rattling around my head and bumping into other ideas for a while. So I just sit down and write

But if you are new to writing articles, then you must take the time to do some formal keyword research. How to choose the right Keywords covers this in some detail. I know it seems a very involved process but with some practice you'll find that you'll be doing great keyword research within 5 minutes.

What you want are keywords that attract traffic and buyers

Once you have discovered the keywords that would apply to the content of your article, you need to do some search engine optimization.

I am not talking about generating a ton of backlinks to your ezine article, although that definitely helps. I am talking about on page SEO.

Article SEO involves
  • Including your keyword early in the title of your article.
  • Including your keyword early in the body of your content. Within the first 25 words.
  • Make sure that it makes an appearance somewhere near the end of the article.
  • A few mentions of your keywords and variations of your keywords, in the body of your content is good [BUT DO NOT GO OVER BOARD].
  • Also you must keep LSI in mind. LSI means latent semantic indexing. I know the more savvy of you have seen the videos denouncing LSI and have your doubts. But I use LSI and it really has made a difference to my SERP performance. Bottom line is even if it does not help your SEO, it doesn't hurt you either

You may be asking why bother with SEO for your ezinearticles submissions?

Agreed ezinearticles is a directory of articles on many topics. And the purpose is for webmasters looking for content to their sites to go to this directory and copy your article and include the article, as is, on their webpages. This includes publishing your biobox which has your signature with, hopefully a link to your website. And it is through these republished articles that you get backlinks and traffic to your site.

But using search engine optimized articles gives you another possible source of traffic.

If your SEO is spot on, the article itself can rank high in the search engines for relevant keywords. This means more views, more readers and more URL clicks

Ezinearticles, Traffic and Your Website Part 2

Your content.

You would think this was pretty obvious.

Unique content is key.
None of this PLR articles or rehashed content from someone else's website. Your articles should offer some unique information to your readers.
We've all seen the articles that say the same thing over and over and over....
Different authors, different titles, same old content.

It just does not make sense.
If you see a couple of articles by the same author, that have nothing new or interesting to share and does not add to the general body of information already available to you; what do you do when you come across another article by the same author....you just don't bother. Life is too damn short!

Structured content.
This is one really cool, not so little tip that works.
Remember all those articles that have a list of tips or a list of reference. The top 10 lists. If done properly and researched thoroughly these are absolute winners.

But if you are going to write a top 10 list, you had better make sure that the tips, websites, products or whatever else it is you are talking about truly are the top 10.

I read an article about top 3 methods of getting backlinks for SEO. The article talked about social bookmarking, blog commenting and directory submissions. What! Top 3 methods? More like average methods. Obviously the author had not done their research. Social bookmarking sites are increasingly using 'no follow' attribute in their links. There is a small loop hole that you can take advantage of but that's for another post. Maybe. directories? well you know all about directory submissions and blogs are just so hit or miss.

So the message again is if you are planning to write an article in the 'top list' format.. do your homework first. Just saves your reputation getting a knock

Character.
Some articles are soooo boring to read. Not the content but the tone. It reads like a lecture by your worst biochemistry professor. A drone.

Your articles need to have some character and wit to them. When we go round life, we don't have conversations in lecturer or textbook fashion. Each of us has a different way of speaking. Something that brands you as you. Some little quirk that your friends say definitely trademarks you. In the same way, your articles must have personality. They must have wit and character, a tone that allows your readers to fly through your article, engaged because it feels like a real personality is talking to them.

Stay on Topic.
So basic and yet so crucial. You announce via your article's title that it is going to be about SEO. So make sure the content is about SEO. It's not rocket science. Really. It is amazing how often I have clicked on an articles title expecting to find something and then you read the article two or three times wondering, 'Have I missed something' or 'Where is that content the title promised me?' Make sure your articles stay on topic. Err the same topic that your article's title offered would be the place to stay.
Okay enough for one post.

USfreeads and niche Marketing. Does USfreeads work?

USfreeads is a free classifieds site with paid option that a lot of marketers especially bum marketers use

And you will see a lot of blog posts extolling the virtues of USfreeads, with the necessary affiliate link of course :) , and telling you how very easy it is

And I, as a newbie affiliate marketer, saw one the afore mentioned blog posts, and hurriedly went and signed up for a free USfreeads account.

I rolled out a handful of ads and waited and waited and ...... nothing. not a sale, no onslaught of traffic, nothing

And to make things worse, after what seemed like a short period of time, my ads became inactive!!!

So I was perplexed and thought, there must be something in it. There must be a way of using USfreeads to promote my niche websites

So after a lot of research and experimenting I found a few answers

So here is a list of the things that I think contribute to my improved results with USfreeads

USfreeads tip 1: Get the paid option. It's only $10 a month and you can post a lot of ads with this membership. Click on USFreeAds to sign up

USfreeads tip 2: Test everything. You need to test and track your ads. Use unique tracking codes when setting up the affiliate links to be used in your ads campaign, so you can know when the sales are coming from you ads campaign

USfreeads tip 3: Put up loads of ads. those that have success using USfreeads have stated they have 70 to 100 ads running at any one time. You can weed out the ads that are not generating sales and replace them with new ads

USfreeads tip 4: Apply basic on page SEO when writing your ads. That way your ads will do well in the search engines and you can get tons of traffic to the ad campaign

Ezine Articles And Keywords

Ezine articles is one of the article directories that I recommended for you to use for your Bum Marketing in a previous post

Ezine articles has just got better

When you submit your article to the ezine articles directory, if it is accepted, the article gets published.

The articles tend to get the greatest amount of traffic from people visiting ezine articles. Obviously for your article to get noticed, it needs to be on the front page of the ezine articles site or at least the category you have selected for your article

Unfortunately, because of the high volume of articles submitted every single day, most articles only stay on the front page of Ezinearticles for a few hours at best.

So is there another way to maximize your traffic from your article

A recent innovation in Ezine articles has made the answer to this question a definite yes

In the past, a small amount of traffic could find your article through the search engines, that is if you have a well written, search engine optimized article

But it is difficult to assess which keywords free search engine traffic is using to find your articles

Ezine articles has now included a keyword result to the authors tool kit.

This means that you can see exactly what keywords your articles' viewers have used to find your article

The bonus is you can then optimize the articles for the identified keywords and hopefully get more free search engine traffic through your search engine optimization efforts.

10 Hot Tips To Increase Your Blogs Readership

It is not enough to post to your blog regularly and wait for the money to come in. You need to write posts that people will actually read

Some tips on generating blog content here

It is the words on your blog that leads to conversions.

Here are 10 top tips to help increase your readership

1. Unique, good quality content. You just have to make sure that what you post is accurate and of good quality. There just is no short cut to doing your diligent research before posting to your blog. Also make sure your posts are timely. Posting today about an event that happened 3 months ago and has gone cold, is not going to cut it. Be timely, engaging and informative.

2. Post regularly. There is just no excuse for allowing your blog to go stale. If possible, post everyday but if not at least once every two weeks. Yes I know there are affiliate marketing gurus that post maybe once a month to their blogs. But these are guys that have already established themselves. They can afford to keep us waiting for their next instalment because they know that when they post, We will come!!

3. The title of your post, and the keywords you optimize them for, are of fundamental importance. Keyword research is as important in blogging for profits as in traditional websites. I use this keyword tool. Get your keywords and make sure you apply some search engine optimization to each and every post

4.Do not neglect to use your RSS/Atom/XML feed. This allows your content to be syndicated to other sites, giving you greater reach. The blogger blogging platform allows you to do this easily.

5. Join a blogging community and interact with other bloggers. A great community is bumpzee.com

6.Participate in other people's blogs, especially those related to your niche. Leave useful comments on them and offer feedback where appropriate. Use the opportunity to increase visibility for your blog by adding a link to your blog in your posts on other people's blogs, if permitted. Now make sure that your comments are useful and informative. Some website owners abuse this opportunity and spam other peoples blogs. This is despicable and is strenously discouraged.

7. Include a link, preferable using your keyword as the anchor text, in your email and forum signatures. This is easy and free advertisement for your blog. Everytime you send an email or post a useful comment on a forum, your little advert for your new blog is also displayed. This helps increase traffic and could also improve your ranking in the search engines.

8. Submit your blog to a handful of high traffic blog directories. I don't use directory submission software for this. Rather I hand submit my blogs to the individual directories.

Also I cannot see the benefit of submiting my blog to 100 low PR low traffic directories. My time could be better spent elsewhere. Just pick the few directories that have been proved to yield traffic and stick to them.

9. Article Marketing and Bum marketing. My favorite method of free website promotion. Second only to search engine optimization. Write articles that are related to your blog's niche and of good quality. Submit these articles to article sites. Remember to add your signature, with link embedded, at the end of each article. Again you do not need to use 100 article sites. I suggest ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com

10. Use an update service or ping service to let readers know your blog has been updated. Ping your blog everytime you add a new post. I use pingomatic.com but there are loads of other good pinging services out there. The beautiful of pingomatic is it pings a lot of servers simultaneously.

The above tips should get you well on your way. It is important to recognize that you will not get a large number of loyal readers overnight. It takes time to build reputation.

Whatever you do, keep tweaking, learning and improving and you will soon see a large amount of loyal subscribers to your blog

How To Get Your Affiliate Marketing Articles Accepted By Article Directories

Previously we have gone over article marketing, bum marketing and how you can use these to increase traffic to your website.

But article marketing works only if you can get your articles accepted by the article directories

So how can you increase the chances of your articles being accepted with the article directories

Familiarise yourself with their rules: You need to read the terms of service of each and every directory you use. It is only then that you will understand the minor nuances that each directory has.

For example, Ezinearticles.com does not accept articles that contain an affiliate link. Having said that ezinearticles.com is one of my favourite article directories. Article there are indexed quickly and the link to your website is not no follow so it contributes to your ranking. Goarticles.com however allows you to include affiliate links in your article body or signature.

You will find that if you operate within the terms of service of the article directories, your articles will be accepted each and every time

Let's face it, the rules are not exactly draconian, they are pretty reasonable and it is probably because of these rules that article directories are still very useful for affiliate and internet marketers.

Article Structure: Structure your articles so that they are easy to read. Article directories do not like articles that are too long. Try and keep your article length less than 700 words. The flip side is that if your article is too short it will also get rejected. I find that my articles are 400 to 700 words long and have all been accepted by the article directories.

Also use white space. Single space between lines and double space between paragraphs

Keep the paragraphs short, three to four sentences and no more. This will increase the frequency with which your articles are actually read. You need readers to read your artilcle if you are to influence them to click on to your website.

In the same vain, use subheaders and bullet points where necessary. Don't over do it. Bullet points help break up you articles into easily digestable parts

SpellCheck: Very important. If your article contains typos or looks like you have cobbled it together using content generation software, it will not be accepted. Read your articl out loud to your self before submitting it to the article directory. Also use the spell check software on your computer. Microsoft word has a very good spellchecker. ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com also have a spellchecker

Hand submit your article: While this is not a must do, I highly recommend you hand submit your articles to the article directories. Some people use article submission software that will submit your article automatically to scores of article directories. I have no experience with this software and people that do claim to have some success with it.

Original articles: This is the most important point and somehow i left it till last. It is crucial that your articles are original. Either write your own articles yourself or pay someone to do it. Using PLR articles just will not do.

4 Essential Components Of Your Articles

Article marketing could significantly increase the traffic to your website and it is something that needs to be taken very seriously.

For you to achieve success with article marketing, there are 4 things you must include and pay attention to in your articles

  • Keyword selection. You must identify the keywords that are most appropriate for your article. These are keywords that are searched for frequently in the search engines by people interested in your particular niche, keywords that are not too competitive, and that are used by people in a mind frame to take action.

  • Keyword distribution. Your keyword must be included in the heading of your article. This is crucial. You also need to include the keyword early in the body of your article's content and often. Do not overdo it. There is the risk of being penalized for keyword stuffing. Also include other words that are often associated with your keywords

  • Unique Content. For your articles to fly, you really need to have unique content on your pages. It is not enough to go out and get a bunch of PLR articles and paste them on your site. You need to write your own articles or pay someone to write unique articles for you. Also make sure that your article contains some useful content. Take this article for example, it tells you how to write article to succeed in article marketing. Now that is useful content. I find that 'how to' articles are the best article marketing articles. They just tend to take off and go viral quite quickly.

  • Anchor links. Use your keywords as anchors for your links from your articles to your website. This will help drive traffic to your site and also help your search engine rankings.

How to Use Simple Written Articles to Drive Lots of Traffic to Your Website. Part 5

What websites should you submit your articles to to generate tonnes of traffic to yours

There are websites that accept and display your articles for free. The bonus for these sites is they have content, loads of content, generated for them by article writers like you. Imagine the adsense revenue each of these sites must be making off the back of your hard work.

The upside for you is that these sites by virtue of the wealth of content on them, rank well with the search engines and have a large amount of traffic coming to them each and every day. Because you have back links to your site, or affiliate link, in your bio box, some of this traffic becomes yours. Also having back links from some of these sites can help boost the ranking of your site.

The article sites I suggest you use are

These are two sites that i have used and still use with good results

How to Use Simple Written Articles to Drive Lots of Traffic to Your Website. Part 4

So now you know how to structure your articles and you probably have a million and one ideas of articles you want to write.

Before you run out and start writing and publishing all those traffic generating article, there are a few more points you must consider

  • Article Length: You want your article to be about 400 to 700 words long. Most Internet users are impatient and do not have a long attention span. If you write an article that is rather long, a lot of your potential customers will simply click on to another page. Reading your 2000 word article just seems like too much work

  • Search Engine Optimization [SEO]: You need to apply SEO to your articles. It is very important so that your articles will rank well for the keywords you are optimized for. The higher your ranking, the more traffic you are likely to get.

  • Backlinks in your Bio box: You need to be aware that not all article submission sites accept articles with affiliate links. This is not a problem if you have your own website and are trying to drive traffic to the site. Also always aim to use your keyword as the anchor tag in your backlink

  • Terms of Service: You need to read the TOS of each of the article submission sites you use. By reading their terms of service and adhering to them, there is less risk of your articles getting rejected

  • Article submission software: You will come across lots of adverts for article submission software. I personally do not use these. Instead i manually submit my articles to the individual sites. However I am obliged to inform you that there are article submission software out there that will submit your article to a bunch of article sites. You need to read the fine print and decide for yourself if this is the way you want to go.

How to Use Simple Written Articles to Drive Lots of Traffic to Your Website. Part 3

Article marketing is such an easy and free way to generate targeted traffic to your website that every affiliate or Internet marketer owes it to him or herself to invest some time and effort in article marketing.

Your article, once accepted by the article submission site is live on the Internet for the life time of the article publishing site

Even when your articles go into the archives, the backlinks are still pointing to your affiliate link or website link.

I can almost hear a bunch of you saying, 'but I can't write'

Everyone can write an article. You just have to follow a simple plan or layout and before you know it, you will be churning out loads of quality articles that are easy for your readers to read.

Always have the attitude that your article is simply outlining your thoughts on a particular topic. Write this out in an orderly manner so that one point flows into another resulting a well written article.

It is important that you word your article in a manner that causes your readers to want more information. It is those articles that provide quality information that will rise to the top and continually generate clicks on the link in your biobox, long after you submitted the article.

The content of your article must be something that potential customers will be interested in.

Earlier I mentioned that you need a simple outline to follow in structuring your articles. An example of such an outline is described below

1. Title: Attention grabbing and curiosity arousing
2. Introduction: Tickle their imagination with your introduction
3. Message A
4. Message B
5. Message C
6. Conclusion
7. Biobox including a backlink to your website or your affiliate link

If well written, your article will create a hunger for more in your readers.

Your articles should build their expectations so much that they would just want to click through.

In creating the signature to put in your biobox or byline, you must remember to continue to arouse their curiosity. Make them feel that there is a treasure trove of information or a product they just must get on the other side of the click.

It is easy to overhype your signature and therefore reduce your click through rate so be careful that you article and signature do not come across as contrived or spammy

How to Use Simple Written Articles to Drive Lots of Traffic to Your Website. Part 2

With article marketing, it is important that you learn to write articles that grab the attention of the reader and keeps them interested.

This is essential if your efforts to generate traffic to your site using article marketing are to succeed.

Writing an article that will help generate traffic to your website should be somewhat similar to drawing a clear picture for your readers. You must have a clear picture of what you want your articles readers to see or learn and with your words paint a masterpiece that engages their imagination.

Your focus must be on the message you want to convey through your article.

These days the Internet is awash with articles that are written for the entire purpose of making money via affiliate marketing. You will be able to spot these articles from a mile off because it is clearly evident that not a lot of thought has been put into the content of the article itself.

This is actually an advantage for you if you are considering getting an increase in traffic to your website via article marketing.

By producing well thought out, information packed articles that are useful to your readers, your articles will stand out from the rest of the pack. With time, these articles will help build your reputation as an expert or authority in your chosen field.

People will seek out your articles, wait impatiently for your next installment, rush to your website to learn more from you, the font of accurate and useful information.

So how do you ensure that your articles will be traffic pulling virtual real estate for your affiliate marketing business?

  • Headline: The first thing that your potential readers and customers will see is the headline or title of your article. You need to remember that when they see this, it will usually be in a list of perhaps 30 other headlines. All vying for attention. Your headline must stand out from the others. You must craft your headline in such a way that it gives enough away to attract attention but keeps enough back to make the reader click on your article to find out more. This is a skill that can really only be learned by practice and testing.

  • Content: The content of your article must be written in an engaging manner. Write like you speak. No-one wants to read a scholarly article about whatever it is you choose to write about. Format your articles in segments so it is easy for your reader to take in what you have to say. Bite size is a very profitable idea

  • Your signature or Biobox:The bio box is where you send your article readers to the site you are generating traffic for. Be imaginative when crafting the structure of your signature. Word it in a way that will compel you readers to click..

A quick word to say that your visitors readiness to click is also dependent on the content of your article. You need to write your content in a way that they take a lot of useful information from it. But you must also leave them with the feeling that there is so much more to learn and get them in the state of mind to want this extra knowledge NOW!

How to Use Simple Written Articles to Drive Lots of Traffic to Your Website. Part 1

For a long time now, article marketing has been useful in helping people drive lots of traffic to their websites. Unfortunately, many people do not think they can write very good article pieces and as a result, most of them give up.

Article marketing can be hectic in the sense that you have to consistently write articles to meet the demands that are needed by those who may need your information.

Article marketing requires a lot of research and knowledge. If not, you’ll end up turning out garbage like most articles out on the Internet.

There are two major ways of writing your articles. You could either decide to write yourself or outsource –contract it to another person.

Writing takes a lot of patience. If you have not been writing prior to this time, it will only take you 1 hour of practice every day for the next 1 month to become pretty good at it. All you need is the ability to gather your thoughts together and put them down on paper.

If you do not want to write by yourself, outsource your article contracts. For a little amount of money –say between $10-$15 depending on the length of the article- you could get article writers to write your articles for you and have them pass on all the rights to you.

Whether you want to write by yourself or outsource, the best way to approach writing articles is by doing your research. You need to know what questions people are asking as you do not want to deal with issues that have been over flogged already.

Articles that are specific usually get a lot more high quality traffic than a generalized one.

For example, if you wrote an article on autoresponders, you may get traffic but may not make any sales. But if you wrote an article on a topic like“How to make money using your autoresponder”, “How to suck in cash every time you send an email to your subscribers” etc., you’ll find people will readily listen.

Reason? You are providing a specified content, giving high quality information and more importantly, answering a question that many people are asking.

A typical example is this article you are reading. I could have titled it “Article writing: A general Overview”. Some people would sure take a look at what I have written just for looking sakes. But with the topic, “How to Use Simple Written Articles to Drive Lots of Traffic to Your Website,” you are bound to click through.

Why? Because there is promise of my solving your traffic needs with the information in the article.

Now, assuming I have a website at the end of this article with the title: “Article writing: A general Overview” or one with the title: “How to Use Simple Written Articles to Drive Lots of Traffic to Your Website,” which would you more likely click? Yeah, this one because I could solve your traffic generation or website promotion problems.

So, your article should be very highly targeted to the audience who would need the information you will be passing across to them.

Article Marketing: Where do you get articles from?

First off article marketing is not for everyone. Some people just can not write to save their lives.

Article marketing the bum marketing way requires that you write a whole bunch of articles in a pretty short period of time.

The articles must be original i.e. not duplicates of other people's articles you have found online.

The best sources of articles are
  • Write your articles yourself: Probably the best way in my book. The articles will reflect your own unique style and help to brand you and your business. You can get ideas for articles
  1. Based on your own experience in the particular niche

  2. Inspiration from other peoples articles
  • Get a ghost write to write you a bunch of articles. This is not very expensive but you run the risk of putting up articles that do not truly reflect your business. Of course you can always edit these articles before you publish them
  • PLR articles: You can purchase a bunch of PLR articles at reasonably low cost. Never, ever use free PLR articles, they are just so badly written and have no useful content. Once you have bought your PLR package, you need to alter the articles a little. You need to realize that you are not the only person the PLR package has been sold to. If you do not alter the content, you seriously run the risk of duplicate content.

A good collection of PLR articles and ebooks can be obtained at a reasonably low price at http://www.affiliatemarketingintro.com/Recommends/PLR

Article Marketing and Bum Marketing

Bum marketing is simply promoting your product via lots of articles submitted to other people's sites.
This is an effort intensive but free way of making some money on the internet.

You can use Bum marketing to

  • Promote an affiliate link
  • Increase your website traffic
  • Build your opt in list

Article marketing is simply writing articles on a subject in your chosen niche and submitting these articles to article submission sites on the Internet.

At the bottom of each of your articles, include a bio or resource box containing a link to your website or your affiliate link. cloaked, of course! If you are using bum marketing to increase traffic to your site then it is pretty important that you use anchor links.

For example Internet Marketing Articles for Newbies

Why does bum marketing work?

The idea is other webmasters come to the article submission sites, see your well written, search engine optimized article, copy it in it's entirety and paste it on their own websites. This is a good thing. Good because the major article submission sites insist that articles used from them are reproduced in their entirety. Bio or resource box included.

If your article is really useful, it could get picked up by a ton of websites.

The advantage of this?

Back links to your website or affiliate link. More traffic, more sales!!!

Bum marketing is a well developed and advanced method of using article marketing to make an income online. It takes alot of effort on your part but it is free and more importantly, highly effective.
